It is NOT possible for a person in hypnosis to be forced to do anything he or she doesn’t want to do. Feel free to ask any questions you wish at any time.
You are not asleep or unconscious
You are conscious and will remember the session, but you will be in a “heightened state” of consciousness. This is very similar to the feeling of being “zoned out” while driving or watching television. It is as if your conscious mind is now in the back seat, while the subconscious mind is in the driver seat. The back seat driver may still chatter! Either way, you are still aware (sometimes hyper-aware).
You may not feel different.
Or, you may feel heavy, light, or tingly. Your body may feel asleep with your mind awake. Or just relaxed. Either way, you get results.
You won’t be asked to quack like a duck
This type of thing is only in the movies or in some stage hypnosis shows. You won’t be asked to do anything like this in hypnotherapy. There is no personal healing value in trying to make someone look silly, nor in trying to make it look as though the hypnotist has power over another.
Almost everyone can be hypnotized
If your intelligence is above 70 IQ (above mental retardation) and you want to be hypnotized, you can be. If you don’t want to be hypnotized, a hypnotherapist can not force this on you.
You will always “Wake up”
You aren’t asleep in a session. Your conscious mind is still alert, although in a “neutral” state, and can handle any emergency or other situation if needed. You can’t “get stuck” in a trance.
Use your imagination!
Your subconscious mind works very well with images, suggestions, visualizations, and metaphors. We will use these in the interactive part of the hypnosis session. Let your mind be creative and optimize your results!
Hypnotherapy uses the power of your own mind
to help you accomplish your goals.
